Project Snow

Project Snow is a great non-profit encouraging youth to be active through snowboarding. They work under the umbrella of the Children's Cabinet in Reno, Nevada along with the Washoe County Social Services. Together they are taking a stand against the growing rate of obesity among children and teens. Project Snow is doing this by promoting and providing a unique opportunity such as snowboarding for youth at risk and youth that come from low socioeconomic families. For more information and to get involved go to www.projectsnow.org or visit them on facebook.

Wow! Thank you for sharing this great project! Obesity is a huge problem with our youth and Project Snow is an example of a way to get kids moving and to interact with the beautiful outdoors. I'd like to find a way for Michigan to create a similar program for our children. . .we don't have mountains but we have enough ski hills to share with our at-risk children.
