Burton EcoNico Snowboard

The EcoNico, Burton’s first environmentally-friendly snowboard, aims to seek the smallest footprint by utilizing renewable resources and minimizing toxins as much as possible.  Natural materials such as green wax (a combo of bee’s wax, carnauba wax, and soy oil) give the board extra zip without using earth-damaging chemicals. The edges and base are also manufactured from recycled materials. This board is great for smashing down the groomers, launching booters in the backcountry, slashing through the tree runs, catching big air in the park or pipe, and saving the planet.  Specifications include:

-Grip and Rip™ Edge Tune

-The Channel- the easiest, most adjustable mounting system ever. Compatible with any Burton binding, but best when paired with one of their EST™ bindings. Both channel plugs are made from recycled materials.

-Infinite Ride™- This exclusive pop and power-enhancing technology allows Burton to break in the board for you while maximizing its strength. They do this by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that simulates the conditions found during a season on snow. The result is a board that rides the same from the first day forward, season after season.

-Pro-Tip™- Tapering the thickness of the tip and tail dramatically reduces swing weight to help you pull that extra 180. If that’s not enough, Pro-Tip™ also improves float in powder.

-Eco-Light Carbon Vaporskin™- Utilizes the same magic found on space shuttles to shave additional weight off of the already smoke-weight Vapor™, while maximizing snap and strength. Subtract glass, add carbon, carry the stoke, and what do you get? A board so lightweight it feels like you’re riding on air.

- New FSC Certified Super Fly II Wood Core.

-This board also comes in recycled packaging.

“Fitting in with my lifestyle, this board aims to seek the smallest footprint by recycling, using renewable resources, and minimizing toxins as much as possible. I am honored that this project has set a milestone within Burton as the new tech and processes that we discovered will be introduced throughout the 2010 line. Hopefully little steps like this will mean a healthier future and plenty more powder days.”  ~ Nicolas Müller
